Why it works
It was never about willpower.
Appetite is driven by hormones, not discipline. Mounjaro® works on two of them at once, so eating less stops being a daily fight.
One injection, once a week
Acts on two appetite hormones
Medsafe-approved
1
Feel full sooner.
Tirzepatide acts on GIP and GLP-1, the two hormones that tell your brain you’ve had enough. The signal arrives earlier, so you stop before you overeat.
2
Stay satisfied for longer.
It slows how quickly your stomach empties. A normal-sized meal keeps you going for hours, not minutes.
3
Quiet the food noise.
The constant pull toward snacking fades, for many people within the first few weeks. Smaller portions start to feel like enough.

Common questions
Mounjaro®, answered.
What is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, a prescription medicine used for weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, under the supervision of a registered practitioner. It comes as a once-weekly injection in a pre-filled pen.
How does it work?
Tirzepatide acts on two appetite hormones, GIP and GLP-1. Together they signal fullness and slow digestion, so hunger and cravings ease and smaller portions feel like enough.
How is Mounjaro different from Wegovy or Ozempic?
Wegovy and Ozempic contain semaglutide, which acts on one hormone pathway, GLP-1. Mounjaro acts on two, GIP and GLP-1. Your practitioner will tell you which suits your history.
Where can I find official information about Mounjaro?
The Mounjaro® Consumer Medicine Information and data sheet are published by Medsafe at medsafe.govt.nz. Your practitioner can also talk you through anything in them.
